The one thing I think all of us missed the most during the pandemic was, the Annual day. The hustle and bustle in school , day long practices in the amphitheatre under the winter sun, were dearly missed. So this year's annual day was particularly memorable because we could all share the same space once again, to celebrate this institution.
The occasion was graced by our chairperson Mrs. Usha Chopra who enlightened us with her words of wisdom and shared her personal experience of meeting Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The cultural extravaganza began with an orchestral performance by the school band on the composition “Jai Ho . I could feel the aura of patriotism flowing through the theatre.
Next it was time for the long due prize distribution ceremony for academic , co-curricular and sports achievers. The awardees and especially their proud parents were elated to see their children receive the awards. Subsequently our school choir gave a stellar performance on the melodious song, ‘Vande Mataram’.
A presentation showing glimpses of the year, which highlighted how New Era Public School Dwarka provides progressive and universal education to its students through an advanced and avant-garde curriculum and programs. Next , the tiny tots of kindergarten and classes I and II invoked the blessings of Lord Ganesha and prayed for happy and healthy times through a beautiful dance. It was truly a sight to behold.
Thereafter we came to the most awaited part of this evening. The ballet-Dr.APJ. Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India. The play was brought to life on the stage with live singing and spectacular acting. The ballet took us through the life journey of the legendary leader, Dr. Kalam and shed light upon the struggles and achievements of his life. The ballet included several dances with unique concepts performed to perfection, by the students.
The event ended with the grand finale which enthralled one and all. The entire team performed with unmatched enthusiasm and zeal. To conclude, the principal thanked the dignitaries and parents and lauded the teachers and students for putting up a great show.
