Udyatam - The Annual Sports Day 2024-25

Udyatam, the Annual Sports Day of New Era Public School, Dwarka was celebrated with great enthusiasm and excitement on 25^th January, 2025. The event showcased the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline among students, staff, and parents. The day began with a warm welcome to the parents, expressing gratitude for their presence, which made the event more meaningful. The Chief Guest of the day, Mrs. Usha Chopra, Chairperson, New Era Public School, Dwarka was greeted with a planter by the students. Her presence added prestige to the occasion. Mr. Rohit Chopra, Director, New Era Public School, Dwarka, along with Ms. Ashi Malhotra, Headmistress, New Era Saplings also graced the occasion.

The event commenced with an impressive March Past by the students of all houses. Their synchronized steps, crisp uniforms, and the beat of the drums created a sense of pride and discipline. This was followed by the Oath Taking Ceremony, led by the Sports Captain, taking the oath, pledging to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship and to participate with integrity. Furthermore, the torch relay followed, symbolizing the flame of hope and determination. The torch was lit by the school’s best athletes, marking the official start of the sports meet. Mrs. Usha Chopra and Mr. Rohit Chopra addressed the gathering, sharing inspiring words, emphasizing the importance of physical activity in fostering resilience and teamwork while also commending the school for its emphasis on holistic development and encouraging students to excel in both academics and sports. The day also witnessed presentation of various drills by the students showcasing their strength, rhythm, and coordination. Various track events in different categories were organised for the students from LKG to XII, where students displayed their athletic skills and competitive spirit. The parents also joined in the fun with a spirited race, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

Prize Distribution ceremony also took place where winners of the track races, relay races, fun races and parent races were awarded medals and certificates, celebrating their hard work and dedication, with students and parents basking in the glory of their achievements. The highlight of the day was the award for the Best Marching Contingent which was presented to Samveda House, whose discipline and presentation stood out amongst all. Arnav Narwaria of class XII and Arnav Siwag of class XI were awarded the Special achievers in sports, for their exceptional contributions and accomplishments throughout the year. Moreover, the prestigious Athlete of the Year awards were also presented in two categories: Classes III-VIII and IX-XII, honouring students who consistently excelled in sports. The event included a mesmerizing Cheraw Drill, a traditional bamboo dance that showcased the rich cultural heritage of Mizoram, followed by the grand finale, where all participants came together for a synchronized performance, symbolizing unity and teamwork.

Ms. Priti Ramendra, Vice Principal, New Era Public School, Dwarka, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, parents, staff, and students for their contributions and support in making the event a success. The programme ended with the National Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and patriotism among everyone present. The Sports Day was a resounding success, leaving everyone inspired by the energy, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the event.
