Visit to Asha Grih – Home for street children
Reaching out to different communities, knowing and interacting with them are the main objectives of learning and teaching Sociology. A visit to Asha Grih- A home for street children, Amber Hai, Sector-19, Dwarka, was organised for the Sociology students of XI and XII, with the intention of sensitising them to different communities, and instilling in them the values of empathy and community involvement.
Asha Grih is a home for boys and has around 30 children in the age group of 5-18. Students interacted with the children and spent quality time with them. The students of the orphanage felt a greater sense of belonging and improved their self esteem. Our students learned to be compassionate and grateful for being blessed in so many ways. It was an enriching experience for all.
