INTER HOUSE SCHOOL COMPETITIONS (Classes III to XII)

Co –curricular activities help students to develop social skills, intellectual skills, moral values and personality .They fuel learning by stimulating creative thoughts and offering the students a chance to switch over and do something they really enjoy. They spark their innate skill of leadership, responsibility, innovation and creativity .Besides it provides a golden opportunity to promote original thinking .They also inculcate and nurture social and moral values in students. These activities not only give equal footage to every child but also boost their confidence and holistic development. Students learn to contribute, manage and organize, individually as well as in a team. Competitiveness, excellence, quality, achievements and enthusiasm are some of the ethics of co –curricular activities. The purpose of such competitions is not to judge someone but to build self-confidence, develop the oratory skills and enhance self-expression.
The students demonstrated great team spirit by putting their best efforts for contributing to the House score.
The events started by welcoming the Director, Principal ,teachers and the amazing audience.
The first event of the day was ‘Poetry Recitation’ for classes 3 & 4.The judges for this event were Ms Lehar and Ms Elizabeth.
Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thoughts have found words. – Robert Frost
With this thought in mind the Poetry Competition was conducted. The talented poets enthralled all with their poems infused with the beauty of expression, thought, rhyme, rhythm and the music of words as poetry is simply the most beautiful ,impressive and widely accepted mode of saying things.

SPIN A YARN –The next segment of the inter house competition was ‘Spin a Yarn´. The judges were Ms Anita and Ms Elizabeth.
Tell me a fact ,and I’ll learn.Tell me truth and I’ll believe but tell me a story and it will stay in my heart forever’’ That’s the magic of storytelling.
To spin a yarn means to tell a story , usually a long, imaginative, colourful and unlikely story. The story takes the listeners on a magical journey of storytelling and adventure, enrapturing listeners to their world. The participants put their heads together over an intriguing theme to create enthralling stories in front of an engaging audience.The winners in this segment are:
1st Purva,Aarav Mehra ,Pranshi -RIG VEDA
2nd Namay ,Yashvi, Navya –YAJUR VEDA
3rd Bhavya ,Arvin ,Nitya - ATHARV VEDA
Words have magical power. They can bring either the greatest happiness or the deepest despair ; words are capable of arousing the strongest emotions and prompting all men’s action. Last but not the least was ’Extempore’ delivered by the students of classes IX to XI .The judges for this event were Ms Anita and Ms Elizabeth. The winners are:

3rd Aditi Dixit – YAJUR VEDA
