Usha Chopra Creativity Carnival

The projects in the Creativity Carnival were undertaken by the students of the primary wing of New Era Public School,Dwarka,on 22^nd August’26 to explore the rich cultural heritage of India through its diverse storytelling traditions and traditional art forms. 

The presentation aimed to help students understand how Indian stories were traditionally shared through oral narratives, folk performances, dance, music, puppetry, paintings, and other forms of creative expression.

Objectives:

• To understand the importance of storytelling traditions in Indian culture.
• To explore and appreciate India's rich variety of folk and classical art forms.
• To understand how art and storytelling are connected.
• To encourage creativity, research, teamwork, and presentation skills among students.
• To develop respect for traditional artists and indigenous forms of knowledge.

The carnival provided an opportunity to learn about India's cultural diversity in an engaging and creative manner. Researching different traditions helped students understand that India's heritage is not limited to monuments and written history. It also exists in songs, stories, paintings, dances, crafts, performances, and the knowledge passed down within communities.

The project also encouraged teamwork and communication. Preparing the presentation required students to collect information, organise ideas, prepare visual material, and present their findings confidently.
